King of Prussia, PA: East Coast Power Volleyball is thrilled to introduce you to Meredith Schamun, an experienced coach and standout professional and college player who will be leading our new series of setting clinics.

Coach Schamun joins ECP with an inspiring resume of coaching and playing experience, including a number of top honors as a Division 1 college setter as well as coaching stints at some of the country’s top volleyball clubs and college programs. Coach Schamun currently serves as assistant coach at Villanova University.

ECP Executive DIrector Brian McCann said Coach Schamun will lead the club’s commitment to developing stronger setting skills among our players. “We want to make 2019 the Year of the Setter,” said Coach McCann. “We’ve seen time and time again that the strongest teams have consistently focused on strong setting skills and offensive technique with passers, middles, and outsides. We know Coach Schamun has the experience and skill to take our setters and team offense to the next level.”

Prior to joining Villanova, Coach Schamun worked as assistant coach for Tulane University and directed volleyball operations at University of Central Florida. Her club coaching experience is equally impressive with stints at Orlando Volleyball Academy and Club Prime in Irvine, Calif.

Schamun is also a standout player and retains the all-time assist record at Rice University with 5,190 career assists. In 2009 she was named National Setter of the Year by Collegiate Volleyball Update and was co-Setter of the Year in Conference USA, a Division 1 conference in the Southern U.S. Also in 2009 she was named Most Valuable Player in the Conference USA Championship. After college she played professionally with VC Wiesbaden in Wiesbaden, Germany. She earned a masters degree in sport and exercise science from the University of Central Florida.
